Naturally Artificial Spaces

Naturally Artificial Spaces reflects on the idea of a relationship between player and the sound source. This mystic “sound ritual” develops over the duration of the piece in the process of increasing awareness and intimacy. The sound of the bass drum is spatialized around the audience in 4-channel audio corresponding to the microphone placement around the bass drum’s drum head to give the effect of sitting “within” the playing space of the instrument.
