Polonaise for Two Marimbas is a miniature commissioned by the “Dworek Białoprądnicki” Cultural Center. The main idea of this piece is to mix together characteristic traits of the traditional polonaise dance (especially in the accompaniment) with the light, swinging melody in the main voice. In the middle of this simple ABA form you’ll find a quote from the famous soundtrack by Wojciech Kilar to the classic Andrzej Wajda film Pan Tadeusz (recognizable to just about every Polish person).
