Bell Sanctuary is a piece written for the visiting ensemble Mantra Percussion. The idea came from my various experiments with amplifying percussion instruments and searching for interesting sounds. Structure of the piece is based entirely on the sounds I found during the process, and each of the sections develop a different sound of amplified metal percussion instruments and objects.
Instrumentation: sextet: vibes x2, metal Pipes, metal plates, auxiliary bells, glock, crotales, 2 gongs, 4 cymbs, live electronics (4 contact mics, 4 dynamic mics, mixer, PA 5 channels – 4 surround + sub)
